for about a second. And then he moved. He scooped up Rose and held her tightly. This was Rose! This was his friend, his confidant, his soul mate. Sure, the sex was great, but it was only sex. This was HIS Rose, and he was HER Adain. He would NOT lose her; he would NOT give her up. Hell, there were ways that a man and a WOMAN could have sex.and he felt a stirring.'OHMYGAWD!'

Rose still had her face buried in his chest; his shirt - or rather Dainie's blouse - was thoroughly soaked. Adain carefully tilted her head up; she was so beautiful! "Rose. Rose, darling. Look at me. Rose, you'll always be my special girl, and you've done the impossible."

She opened her eyes, still sniffling a little, and gave him a questioning look. He gazed lovingly down at her and smiled, "Although she meant it in an entirely different context, my dear mother always used to say that the right woman would straighten me out."

Rose had looked at him uncomprehendingly for a few seconds, and then, as realization of what he meant dawned on her, she had thrown her arms around him and kissed him passionately once.and again.and again - in between giggles, of course.

Anyone seeing Adain standing on the railroad platform would have sworn they saw him glowing. It was a good thing, he thought, that Rose had reinforced his love with all those kisses, in light of what she had gone on to propose.

After a time, when the kissing and caressing and giggling had faded to quiet holding, Rose had pulled away slightly and he noticed she was giving him a critical and appraising look. "My love," she said, struggling to keep passion out of her voice, "Are you sure? Are you really sure?"

He, equally seriously, answered her, "Rose, I'm sure. I felt the change, and imagined making love to you as a real woman. I'm sure I will be a bit awkward in our love making at first, but, I imagine." here, he had smiled, ".so will you."

"Oh, Adain," she squealed, "you have made me the happiest woman in the world! I know it sounds trite, but it's TRUE! I was so afraid. I was sure I would lose you, but I couldn't lie to you; I couldn't live a lie!" And the kissing began all over again.
